Janet D. Speelman

Janet D. Speelman, 78, of Scott, died at 4:17 p.m. Sunday, November 22, 2015, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

She was born September 10, 1937, in Willshire, the daughter of LeRoy and Mary (Kline) Painter, who both preceded her in death. On October 7, 1960, she married her husband, Kenneth L. Speelman who survives in Scott.

Also surviving are her son Christopher A. (Janet) Speelman of Scott; one granddaughter, Melissa (Alan) Rose of Butler, Indiana; three great-grandchildren, Braxton Speelman, Adalyn Rose, and Griffin Rose, all of Butler, Indiana; and many nieces and nephews.

Ten brothers and sisters, Devona Shell, Cleo Painter, Kate Harnshew, Doris Thatcher, Gene Painter, Charles Painter, Christina Kline, Barbara Von Wald, Martha Foreman, and Margaret Painter, also preceded her in death.

Janet was a homemaker.

Funeral Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 25, at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert.  Burial will follow in Scott Cemetery. 

Calling hours are from 2-7 p.m. Tuesday, November 24, at the funeral home.
