Gloria Jean Hammond

Gloria Jean Hammond, 69, of Van Wert, passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2015, at her residence.

She was born November 17, 1946, in Van Wert, a daughter of Gordon and June (Brenizer) Baxter, who both preceded her in death. She was married to Samuel Hammond, who also preceded her in death.

Survivors include a daughter, Robin Thomas of Van Wert; one son, Brian (Andrea) Hammond of Kalida; three grandchildren, Gage, Lucas, and Cullen Hammond; a brother, Gary Baxter of Convoy; and one sister, Gwen Kemerly of Convoy.

She loved spending time with her grandsons doing word finds and playing Uno. She was always very concerned about being a good friend and helping others in need. She had previously attended Wesley United Methodist Church in Van Wert.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 21, at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert, with the Rev. Jim Burns officiating.

Calling hours are from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, November 20, at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials: Thomas Edison School.
