Charles F. Niedecken

Charles F. “Charlie” Niedecken, 91, of Delphos, died surrounded by his children.

He was born April 27 1924, in Fort Jennings, the son of Frank and Caroline (Ricker) Niedecken, who both preceded him in death. On January 31, 1951, he married the former Esther Pothast, who did September 15, 1996.

American Flag for obituaries 6-2011Survivors include three sons, Edward Niedecken of Toledo, Harold (Debbie) Niedecken of Pleasanton, California, and Joe (Retha) Niedecken of Maumee; a daughter, Rebecca (Charles) Ansley of Westerville; one sister, Amelia Herlihy of Columbia, Maryland; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a son-in-law, Carl Reuther of Toledo.

A daughter, Sharon Reuther; and one brother, Tom Niedecken, also preceded him in death.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 28, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Delphos, with Father Daniel Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery in Delphos, with graveside military honors rendered by t

he Delphos Veterans Council.

Calling hours are from 2-8 p.m. Friday, November 27, at Harter and Schier Funeral Home in Delphos, where a parish wake will be held at 7:30 that evening.
