Central Insurance adds board member

The Central Insurance Companies have announced the appointment of Dennis D. Stripe to the Board of Directors for Central Mutual Insurance and All America Insurance Companies, and the Central Insurex Agency, effective October 30.

Stripe has more than 30 years of medical device experience, with 23 years in the orthopedic sector in various senior management positions. He is the managing director of Compliant Innovations Inc. in Sunnyvale, California, and also works as an independent contractor/consultant for strategic planning for medical device commercialization.

He has previously served as president and CEO of OrthoHelix Surgical Designs Inc., and held several positions at Stryker Corporation in their spine implant division, including vice president of global marketing, vice president and general manager of U.S. operations and global marketing, and general manager of U.S. operations.

Stripe is a graduate of Ohio Northern University with a bachelor’s degree in Marketing and an Honorary Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He has also studied at Harvard University, the Wharton School of Business, Boston University, and California State University.

Stripe is a member of the advisory board for the James F. Dicke School of Business at Ohio Northern University, a member of the Bio-Ohio and Northeast Ohio BioEnterprise, past board member of the North American Spine Society and Spine Masters Institute, and director and board member for the Spine PAC. He has also served as a guest speaker and panel participant for a number of workshops and conferences. In 2006, he founded the Annual Stryker Lifetime Achievement Award for the Scoliosis Research Society.

Stripe is married with three children and one grandchild. In his spare time, he enjoys golfing, skiing, hunting, and classic cars.
