Van Wert SWCD sets annual meeting

The Van Wert Soil & Water Conservation District’s 66th Annual Meeting is just around the corner.

The event will be held Thursday, November 12, at Vantage Career Center’s Cup & Saucer Restaurant, 818 N. Franklin St. in Van Wert.

An election will also be held to elect two members of the Board of Supervisors. Running in the election are Richard Rice, Darryl Ricketts, and Gary Weck. Registration and voting will take place from 5:30-6 p.m. the day of the annual meeting.

Dinner catered by Elegant Beginnings Catering will begin at 6 p.m., with a program scheduled for 7 that evening. The SWCD district will be honoring the “Conservation of the Year” recipient, the scholarship award recipient will be recognized, and a Conservation Activity Report presented.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 2-12 years and are available from Craig Pohlman, Darryl Ricketts, Bob Gehres, Gary Weck, Dave Kemler, Julie Buggle, and Craig Higbie. Tickets are also available at the SWCD office, 1185 Professional Drive in Van Wert, until Friday, November 6.
