NPAC releases tickets for 3 new shows

Niswonger PAC information

The Niswonger Performing Art Center of Northwest Ohio (NPAC) is releasing something for everyone this week. Together with Season Sponsors StateWide Ford Lincoln and Van Wert Federal Savings Bank, the Niswonger releases three events that should keep the box office hopping.

Jeffery-Mohr Family Dentistry Inc. presents a longtime family favorite, “VeggieTales Live!” on Tuesday, November 10 at 7 p.m. Inspired by a classic VeggieTales favorite song, “Little Guys Can Do Big Things Too”, this live show encourages kids that even though they are small, they can be used by God to do big things! Featuring new introductions from Bob, Larry and Junior, this fun compilation has a lot of new twists!

The show also features the popular Veggie kids giving their thoughts on everything from how big God is to how little they sometimes feel. Family friendly ticket prices begin at $15 and are now available.

Then on Wednesday, get ready for the long awaited release of The Midtown Men. This performance reunites stars from the original cast of Broadway’s Jersey Boys, making them the first vocal group ever formed from the principal cast of a high-profile Broadway show. After sharing the stage for over a thousand performances, Tony Award winner Christian Hoff, Michael Longoria, Daniel Reichard and Tony Award nominee J. Robert Spencer decided to take their signature sound and chemistry to audiences everywhere, bringing to life their favorite 1960s hits. The show includes “jump to your feet” musical numbers from iconic idols such as The Beatles, The Jackson 5, The Temptations and The Four Seasons.

The New York Times said, “Sidling up to the microphone, the singers had the air of the Rat Pack, Motown and a nightclub act rolled into one,” while the New York Daily News proclaims, “The Midtown Men sound as crisp as their Rat Pack-inspired suits. Their voices blend together so flawlessly on stage.” The Oklahoman praised the Midtown Men for “a joyous and nostalgic trip through the music of the 1960s with terrific orchestral charts,” adding, “this high-spirited evening kicked the audience’s adrenaline into overdrive.” Tickets range from $25-$45. This event features the Willow Bend Country Club “prime rib dinner and a show” option.

Next, the Broadway hit show Mamma Mia!, featuring the hit songs of Swedish pop group ABBA, releases for sale. A mother, a daughter, three possible dads and a trip down the aisle make this a show you’ll never forget. US Bank presents this high energy Broadway show set in a beach resort in the Mediterranean. Mamma Mia! tells the story of Sophie, a bride-to-be with one wish: to have her absent father walk her down the aisle.

After reading passages about three old lovers in her mom’s diary, Sophie sends each a wedding invitation in hopes of learning which man is her dad. The arrival of the men from her past is surprising to Donna, Sophie’s fiercely independent mother, who prides herself on getting through life without a man, and highly amusing to Donna’s two best gal pals. The more Sophie and her mother struggle to find truth and understanding, the more it threatens to tear them apart and wreck Sophie’s dream wedding.

Calling all ABBA fans! This has your name written all over it. The songs are all culled from the Swedish super-group’s songbook, and this is one Broadway show where singing along (and dancing in the aisles) is encouraged. Mamma Mia! has a two-night run at the Niswonger on Tuesday, November 24, and Wednesday, November 25, both starting at 7:30 p.m. Tickets range from $40-$65 and are available beginning this Thursday at noon. Supporting sponsors are Belna Petroleum, Ciao Med Spa, Brewed Expressions, Dark Horse Productions, Mix 103.3 and WFFT. The Willow Bend prime rib dinner buffet is featured for both performances.

Tickets are available online at NPACVW.ORG or through the Niswonger Box Office by calling 419.238.6722, Tuesday-Friday from noon-4 p.m. The Niswonger is located at 10700 Ohio 118 on the south side of Van Wert.
