Vera Louise Kuhn

Vera Louise Kuhn, 76, of Rockford, died Wednesday evening, July 1, 2015, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

She was born July 15, 1939, in Geneva, Indiana, the daughter of Roy and Bessie (Steen) Myers, who both preceded her in death. In 1943, she was legally adopted by Elmer and Violet White, who also preceded her in death. On January 16, 1959, she married Vernon F. Kuhn, who survives in Rockford.

Other survivors include two children, Douglas Kuhn of Willshire and Kristina (David) Stemen of Rockford; a grandson; and a foster brother, Philip White.

Three brothers, Louis, Roy and Raymond Myers; three sisters, Marjorie Rediger, Betty Burkhart and Flora Jean McGill; and a foster brother, Thurmond White, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 6, at Rockford United Methodist Church, with Pastor Chip Steffy officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Rockford.

Calling hours are from 4-8 p.m. Sunday, July 5, at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford and an hour prior to services Monday at the church.

Preferred memorials: St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
