Edward Gene Wells

Edward Gene Wells, 60, of Padroni, Colorado, and formerly of Van Wert, passed away Friday, July 17, 2015, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Ed was born April 25, 1955, in Lima, the son of Cleo E. Wells, who preceded him in death, and Jackie Wells, who survives in Van Wert. Ed was a 1974 graduate of Van Wert High School. After graduation, he served four years in the United States Army.

On September 30, 1991, in Van Wert, he married Cynthia A. (Buchanan) Wells, who survives in Padroni, Colorado.

Ed was a natural carpenter, as he always enjoyed working with his hands. He was a truck driver for many years and then worked for IWS in Colorado as a crane operator. He moved to Colorado in October 2001.

Ed loved grilling, working in his shop and loved his horse, Stormey.

In addition to his mother and wife, survivors include a brother, Ron (Linda) Wells of Convoy, two sisters, Sheryl Burns of Flint, Michigan, and Jenny (Stan) Lichtenberger of Van Wert; three stepchildren, Tina (Scott) Danylchuk, Taunya (Brad) Breece, and Jonathon McMichael; 16 stepgrandchildren; six stepgreat-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Private family services will be held at a later date in Van Wert.
