Van Wert’s Samantha Rohrbacher is getting used to attending the FCCLA National Leadership conference. Her score in the Life Event Planning contest at the state level earned her another trip to the national competition. In the Life Event Planning contest, participants select an upcoming event in their lives, determine the amount they can budget for the event, and prepare an event portfolio in advance. At the event site, participants present the portfolio to the evaluators. Last year, she and her teammate received gold for their Chapter Service Project, which was to make blankets and present them to veterans taking Honor Flights. Rohrbacher, who is a Regional FCCLA officer this year, will be accompanied to the Washington, D.C., conference by Lynda Ragan, Van Wert FCS instructor/advisor.
