Flagship donates to schools

Michael Baldea (right), owner of Flagship Tax Center, 316 W. Ervin Road in Van Wert, presents a check for $120 to Van Wert Elementary School Principal Kevin Gehres for the fifth year of Flagship’s Help Our School campaign. Since its inception, the program has donated nearly $600 to Van Wert City Schools for use in purchasing supplies for students who might otherwise go without. Through the campaign Flagship offers to donate $10 to the schools for every tax return prepared under the program. “We’re excited that this check is 40 percent higher than in 2014 and represents a continuing commitment by Flagship Tax Center and the Van Wert community to strive for a better tomorrow for today’s kids,” Baldea said, adding that Flagship plans on keeping the project going for years to come and appreciates the participation of parents who chose to have Flagship professionally prepare their taxes this year.
