John Allen Ramsey

John Allen Ramsey, 36, of Van Wert, died at 2:51 a.m. Thursday, April 23, 2015, at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert.

He was born January 25, 1979, in Van Wert, the son of Deborah Wolfe, who survives, and the late John E. Ramsey.

John was a man who made friends anywhere he went. He was passionate about music, movies and loved reporting the weather. John’s greatest talent was impersonating famous people, staff and friends. He had a heart of gold and a glowing soul. People always had a friend in John.

John worked at the Thomas Edison Workshop in Van Wert and participated in Special Olympics and Challenged Higher.

Other survivors include his grandmother, Monty Wolfe; a brother, Chad Young of Van Wert; four sisters, Stacey (Travis) Rowe of Scott, Felicia Ramsey, Amy (Tim) Phillips of North Carolina, and Katrina Hundley of Lima; 15 nieces and nephews; and close friends Dave and Connie Wood.

His grandfather, Charles Wolfe; and twin nephews also preceded him in death.

Private funeral services will be conducted for friends and family.

There will be no calling hours.

Preferred memorials: Thomas Edison Group Home/MRSI for a special trip or activity for John’s housemates in his memory.
