Venedocia Lads & Lassies 3/19 meeting

The Venedocia Lads and Lassies met on March 19, 7 p.m., at the Venedocia Lions Club. There were 26 members and six guests present. Isaiah Pugh led pledges.

The club went over the Advisors Handbook and Ohio 4-H club laws. Also discussed at the meeting was the start of a campaign for the 4-H group to begin collecting plastic caps. Acceptable (clean) caps would include caps from pop, milk, detergent, hairspray, and flip top caps from ketchup and mustard bottles. Lids from items such as butter containers, ice cream bucket, yogurt, peanut butter, and cottage cheese containers are also acceptable. Unacceptable lids include soap and lotion pumps, fast-food drink lids, metal, or trigger type sprayers.

Once the group reaches 500 lbs. we will be able to purchase a park bench that was made by the caps we donated. The bench will then be donated to the Van Wert County Fairgrounds. There will be a drop off box at the Venedocia Lions Club at the next meeting if anyone one is interested in our cap campaign.
