Steve E. Baker

Steve E. Baker, 61, of Rockford, died at 10:18 p.m. Friday, March 20, 2015, at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne.

He was born November 14, 1953, the son of Walter Eugene “Gene” Baker, who preceded him in death, and Meta Pearl (Whitehead) Baker, who survives in Celina. On November 3, 1973, he married Bonnie L. (McElroy) Baker, who survives in Rockford.

Other survivors include two daughters, Holly (Dan) Miller of Convoy and Heather Baker of Rockford; two brothers, Jonathan Patrick (Ellie) Baker of Florida and Jeffrey Wayne Baker of Rockford; a sister, Pamela Baker of Celina; and four grandchildren.

A private graveside funeral service will take place later at the convenience of the family.

Calling hours are from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford.
