Sausage sandwich dinner, meteor strikes
The Lincolnview Band Boosters will have its annual Venedocia Lions Club Sausage Sandwich Pre-Game Dinner before the Boys Basketball game on Saturday Feb. 7. Serving will begin at 4:30 p.m. in the cafeteria and will continue through 6 p.m. The Band Boosters thank everyone for their continued support of the Lancer Band.
Fifth graders at Lincolnview Elementary completed an investigation that focused on the physical characteristics of a crater formed by a meteoroid strike. The purpose of this investigation was to compare and contrast the formation of craters with a direct (head-on) impact and an angled impact. They used the scientific method to plan and conduct their investigation with the use of flour, golf balls, meter sticks, and rulers to collect data. They found that the lab results either supported or refuted their hypotheses. Their groups discovered that a head on impact created a deeper crater with a smaller diameter. While, an angled
impact formed a crater with a shallower depth and a larger diameter. They did a great job with the lesson as an extension of their unit on space.
