Fern E. Wermer

Fern E. Wermer of Van Wert died at 6:30 a.m. Monday, February 16, 2015, at Hearth & Home of Van Wert.

She was born January 20, 1925, in Willshire, the daughter of Cleo F. “C.F.” and Avis (Baker) Ray, who both preceded her in death. On December 14, 1947, she married William “Bill” Wermer, who survives in Van Wert.

Other survivors include two children, Elizabeth (Richard) Heiby of Celina and Alan (Nancy) Wermer of Saline, Michigan; three grandchildren; and three-great-grandchildren.

A sister, Esther Lampy, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 20, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.

Calling hours are from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, February 19, at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials: First United Methodist Church.
