Veva L. Cline

Veva L. “Ve” Cline, 102, of Van Wert, died at 9:45 a.m. Monday, January 19, 2015, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert.

She was born November 13, 1912, in Union County, Iowa, the daughter of Clarence E. and Cara (Stoner) Butler. She married Clarence E. Cline, who died in 1976.

Survivors include two children, James (Cindy) Cline of Winchester, Virginia, and Diane (Larry) Mengerink of Van Wert; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and seven stepgreat-grandchildren.

A brother, Paul Butler; and two sisters, Doris Williams and Beatrice Walters, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 23, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.

Calling hours are from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, January 22, at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials: First United Methodist Church or American Legion Auxiliary Unit 178, both in Van Wert.
