James L. Comer

James L. Comer, 72, of Van Wert, died at 1:45 a.m. Tuesday, January 20, 2015, at Hearth & Home of Van Wert.

He was born July 7, 1942, in Van Wert, the son of Leroy G. and Garnett A. (Sowers) Comer, who both preceded him in death.

Survivors include two sisters, Diane (Larry) Games of Mason and Jan (Brent) Van Horn of Pickerington.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, January 28, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. William Haggis II officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert, with graveside military honors performed by units from American Legion Post 178 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803, both of Van Wert.

Calling hours are from noon-1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
