11 people appear in Common Pleas Court

Six people were sentenced, four entered plea changes and one person is headed to prison after admitting to a probation violation during hearings held Wednesday in Van Wert County Common Pleas Court.

Jason Kremer, 31, of Van Wert, admitted to violating his probation by being convicted in Paulding County for illegal manufacture of drugs. Judge Charles D. Steele then sentenced Kremer to 12 months in prison, to run consecutively to a prison term handed down in Paulding County, but also gave him credit for 97 days already served.

Those sentenced include the following:

Court artwork 12-2013 copyMichael Sparrow, 23, of Delphos, was given three years of community control on one count each of breaking and entering, a fifth-degree felony, and safecracking, a felony of the fourth degree. He was also ordered to pay restitution to two victims.

Brittney Lindeman, 29, of Van Wert, was given three years of community control on two counts of trafficking in drugs, each a felony of the fifth degree. Her driver’s license was also suspended for six months.

Brandon Thompson, 27, of Van Wert, was given three years of community control on a charge of possession of heroin, a fifth-degree felony. His driver’s license was also suspended for six months.

Alisha Stemen, 22, of Van Wert, was given three years of community control on one count of burglary, a felony of the third degree, and three counts of theft, all fifth-degree felonies. She must attend drug court as part of her probation.

Andrew Graham, 19, of Delphos, was given three years of community control on a charge of attempted unlawful sexual conduct with a minor. He must also spend up to six months at the Western Ohio Regional Treatment and Habilitation (WORTH) Center in Lima.

April Diltz, 36, of Van Wert, was given three years of community control, along with a six-month driver’s license suspension, on a charge of possession of drugs, a felony of the fifth degree.

Those entering changes of plea on Wednesday include the following:

Tracy Metzger, 32, of Delphos, changed his plea to guilty to a charge of trafficking in heroin, a felony of the fourth degree. The charge includes a specification that he used a 1993 Chrysler automobile in the commission of the offense. He also entered a guilty plea to one count of trafficking in heroin, a felony of the fifth degree. A presentence investigation was ordered and sentencing scheduled for 9 a.m. Wednesday, February 2, 2015.

Joshua Minyoung, 31, of Van Wert, entered a guilty plea to one count each of trafficking in drugs and possession of drugs, both felonies of the fifth degree. A presentence investigation was ordered and he will appear for sentencing at 9 a.m. February 2.

Elmico Crisp, 38, of Van Wert, changed his plea to guilty on one count each of trafficking in drugs and trafficking in heroin, both fifth-degree felonies. A third count of trafficking in counterfeit substances was dismissed in exchange for his guilty plea on the other two counts. Judge Steele ordered a presentence investigation and will schedule sentencing at a later date.

A fourth person entered a plea change before Probate-Juvenile Court Judge Kevin Taylor.

Dustin Hiser, 31, of Van Wert, entered a guilty plea to a charge of failure to register as a sex offender, a felony of the fourth degree. Judge Taylor ordered a presentence investigation in the case and will schedule sentencing at a later date.
