Stephen M. Fennig of Van Wert died Saturday, November 15, 2014, at his residence.

He was born October 4, 1957, in Mercer County, the son of Donald E. Fennig, who survives in Van Wert, and the late Marilyn M. (Miller) Fennig.

Other survivors include three children, Jacquelyn Wolford of Ottawa, Kayla (Noel) Morris of Venedocia and Derek E. Fennig of Pinellas Park, Florida; three sisters, Sharon Franklin of Walton, Kentucky, Leslie (Steven Hughes) Fennig of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Stephanie Fennig of Van Wert; and one grandchild, Blake Morris.

A brother, Mark A. Fennig, also preceded him in death.

Mr. Fennig was a diesel mechanic with G.L.M. Trucking in Rockford. He was a devoted father, an avid Harley-Davidson and gun enthusiast, and loved animals.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 21, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. Will Haggis officiating. Burial will take place at noon Friday in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Wabash (Ohio). Friends and family are invited to 220 Wassenberg Drive at 2 p.m. Friday for food and fellowship.

Calling hours are from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, November 20, and an hour prior to services Friday at the funeral home.
