The Lincolnview FFA Chapter has been very busy. The year began with a kayaking trip which allowed the new officers the time needed to set the FFA chapter goals for the upcoming year. The chapter then held a picnic at a local campground to welcome the new members and discuss the approaching County Fair. The fair is a major activity and the FFA chapter plays a big role in seeing that it runs smoothly. It starts with members helping Mrs. Seibert set up and decorate the FFA booth in the Jr. Fair building and continues with selling wood shavings, cleaning out the goat barn, and working in Babyland with Crestview’s FFA Chapter. The Chapter’s next activity was Crop Service Safety day held in Delphos. Members were asked to assist teachers going from station to station while others were asked to present animal safety and its importance to the younger children.

“Not just Cows and Plows” is another annual activity for our chapter and was held on Tuesday, Sept. 23 this year. Our chapter served as guides to fifth graders as they traveled from station to station learning about today’s agriculture.

On Sept. 24, the FFA chapter traveled to London, Ohio to participate in Farm Science Review. They had the opportunity to attend several educational sessions related to Agricultural Business.

Most recently, the chapter sent seven members to Soil judging as well as held their annual fruit and ham sales. The next upcoming event is Parliamentary Procedure. Our chapter plans on taking our officer team and hopefully a novice team to compete at this event. We want to thank everyone who supported the Lincolnview FFA Chapter.

We understand that many people are facing challenges with today’s current economic situation. We at Lincolnview want to do our part to help those in our community that could use a helping hand. The High School Beta Club will be conducting a clothing exchange during the Parent-Teacher conferences, Nov. 24 and 25. Any member of our

Any member of our community who could use a hand with clothes can pick up items during Parent Teacher conference hours. Everything will be free of charge and no questions asked. We will have the clothing items on the elementary side of the cafeteria. We will have signs directing you to the room where the clothes will be divided into gender and size. We will also have bags/boxes available for you to use. If you have any questions, you can contact Brenda Leeth at 419.968.2214, ext. 3210. Any clothing items left over will be taken to local agencies such as Goodwill and Salvation Army.

Recently, Clark’s Pharmacy in Van Wert held a promotion to give back to the local community.  Clark’s Pharmacy customers had an option of designating a donation for each new and refill prescription throughout the promotion.  Due to the generosity of Clark’s Pharmacy and our local community, Lincolnview received the most contributions during the promotion.  Through the promotion, Clark’s Pharmacy donated $1,129 to Lincolnview.  The school thanks Clarks’ Pharmacy and the Lincolnview Community for their support.

Over the last several weeks, the second grade students have been studying community helpers and their jobs.  15 parents visited to talk to us about the jobs that they have.  The students learned what types of responsibilities each job requires as well as any training they would have to go through.
