Joseph E. Crum

Joseph E. Crum, 82, of Van Wert, died at 6:40 a.m. Saturday, November 22, 2014, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

He was born September 13, 1932, in Maltoa, the son of the late Edward Raymond and Hazel (Davidson) Crum. On May 16, 1952, he married Doris Jean (Mantz) Crum, who preceded him in death on May 20, 2011.

American Flag for obituaries 6-2011Survivors include four sons, Joe Crum Jr. of Upton, Kentucky, Mike Crum of Fairborn, Ed (Judi) Crum of Dayton, and Gary Crum of Cincinnati; two daughters, Cindy (Doug) Stemen of Wapakoneta and Sue (Charles) Wheeler of Elida; four sisters, Betty Storms, Ellen Stanly, Norma Gipson, and Evey Murkerson; 17 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

A daughter, Deborah Jean, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 25, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor Ron Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert, with graveside military honors performed by the combined units of American Legion Post 178 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803, both of Van Wert.

Calling hours are from 11 a.m. until the time of services Tuesday at the funeral home.
