Herbert Wilson Brandt

Herbert Wilson Brandt, 99, of Rockford, and formerly of Willshire, died at 9:50 p.m. Friday, November 21, 2014.

He was born November 27, 1914, in Willshire, the son of the late Otto Arthur and Eva Rose (Wise) Brandt. On November 26, 1942, he married Anna L. (Fahncke) Brandt, who survives in Rockford.

Other survivors include five children, Janet (Ralph) Huge and Edgar (Bev) Brandt, both of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Carol (DeWayne) Knipstein of Hoagland, Indiana, Alan (Kay) Brandt of Rockford and Cary (Kim) Brandt of Willshire; 10 grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three stepgreat-grandchildren.

A brother, Carl Brandt; and three sisters, Esther Brandt Havens, Berniece Brandt Shell and Louise Brandt Baughman, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, November 23, at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford, with Pastor Karen Tamorria officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery in Chattanooga.

Calling hours are from 1-3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
