VW Chamber of Commerce information

Has your business received its share of the Bureau of Workers Compensation’s “Another Billion Back?” Is your company aware of and prepared for the BWC converting to prospective billing? Make sure to attend the November 12 Van Wert Area Safety Council meeting featuring James Wyse, BWC NW regional business development manager.

Wyse will review “Another Billion Back,” the latest round of eligible rebates; the upcoming prospective billing, as well as the latest in safety and health initiatives from the BWC. The Van Wert Area Safety Council has invited members of the BWC Board of Directors to participate in this meeting as well.

The BWC will be transitioning to a new prospective billing system, beginning in July 2015. Prospective billing is an insurance industry standard practice that will enable the BWC to collect premiums before extending coverage. Currently, Ohio employers pay for coverage they have already received. This will impact private employers in 2015 and public employers in 2016. Companies should consider these changes when preparing their 2015 and 2016 budgets.

Find out more at the Van Wert Area Safety Council on Wednesday, November 12, at 7:30 a.m. at Willow Bend Country, 579 Hospital Drive in Van Wert.

Safety Council member representatives attend free and guests may attend for $8. Contact the Van Wert Area Chamber of Commerce at 419.238.4390 to register as a guest.
