VW girls’ tennis team loses to LCC

The Van Wert girls’ tennis team hosted Lima Central Catholic Tuesday evening, but lost 4-1 in a non-conference match at The Van Wert County Foundation Tennis Complex.
No. 1 singles player Ali Moreland wasn’t able to play, but Hannah Stemen filled in, losing to LCC’s Kacey Bradshaw 6-1, 6-1.
The only winners for the Cougars were the No. 1 doubles team of Sydney Felger and Katie Trittschuh, who defeated Natalie Patricio Agosto and Samantha Stallkamp 7-6, 6-4.
Other match scores were as follows:
- No. 2 singles – Kali Agler (VW) lost to Emily Janowski (LCC) 6-0, 6-0.
- No. 3 singles – Emma Verville (VW) lost to Meredith Bruno (LCC) 6-1, 6-0.
- No. 2 doubles – Phoebe Eutsler/Jess Agler (VW) lost to Sophia Venturella/Olivia Stanley (LCC) 6-1, 6-3.
Van Wert is now 1-14 on the season.
