At last, the days count down and Dr. Wassenstein is waiting ever so patiently for you. He opens his doors this Friday at 7:30 p.m. and is taking organ donations for his “cutting” edge experiments. Dr. Wassenstein’s Freak Haus opens its doors on Friday, Oct. 31 at 7:30 p.m. Proper attire (costumes) are highly recommended. This Halloween event is open to the public and costs are below. There will be music and freak show performances. It’s even rumored that the reclusive Dr. Wassenstein himself will be making an appearance. Freakish gourmet food is included, and ghastly spirits will be available. Cash prizes for best costumes will be awarded and record your evening in our photo booth, if you dare. First-come, first-serve. Costs are $25 Individual and $35 Couple, (Wassenberg Art Center member price $20 Individual/$30 Couple). VIP tables have sold out thank you to everyone who purchased!

The doctor has hired DJ, Vourteque who is one of America’s quickly rising stars in the electro swing and neo-vaudeville communities. Musician, producer, remix artist, DJ, carny and ringmaster – Vourteque wows crowds from Los Angeles to New York. Vourteque’s sound can best be described as a cross behind the more house and disco electro and what we know as swing music. Tonight we have the final round of dance lessons here at the art center to get you in an electro-swing-groove. Sarah Hope Wells of the Bachwell Center for Music & Dance, will offer two evening classes here at the Wassenberg Art Center that will feature several different kinds of swing dance lessons which the urban hippie/raver classic, the Shuffle. Lessons are geared for both couples and inviduals. Dress comfortably, in shoes you can move in. Classes will meet again on Oct. 28 from 7–8 p.m. Cost is

Sign up soon! ArtReach is back and usually sells out. Beginning on Tuesday, Nov. 11 for ages 6-10 and Thursday Nov. 13 for ages 11-15. After school students and parents will be required to arrange for a ride to the Wassenberg Art Center and can their students can be picked up at 5 p.m. A snack will be provided, so give us a call soon, space is limited.

Don’t forget to check out the 37th Annual Photography Exhibit will be on view until Oct. 30. If you haven’t had a chance to view this stunning display of photography please make a point to visit by Sunday. Most of the photographs are for sale and would make a beautiful addition to any home.

Watercolor Techniques class continues on Tuesday mornings starting at 10 a.m. This is an ongoing class is taught by Pat Rayman. People are encouraged to jump in anytime and the class is sold in monthly increments. $35 for members and $40 for non-members.

Our next Vine & Palette is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 11 from 6:30–9 p.m. Call soon if you would like to join us for the evening. Vine & Palettes fill up quickly. The event includes all painting materials and first glass of wine. Participants may bring a snack to share if they wish. We even provide aprons, because we are messy!
