Robert Charles Stahl

Robert Charles Stahl, 89, of Van Wert, died at 6:17 p.m. Sunday, October 12, 2014, at Van Wert Manor.

He was born May 21, 1925, in Ohio City, the son of the late Walter Leroy Stahl Sr. and Lois Edna (Reever) Stahl. On June 19, 1946, in St. John’s Lutheran Church near Ohio City, he married Dorthy Louise (Sigler) Stahl, who survives in Van Wert.

Three brothers, William, Wayne Arthur and Walter L. Stahl Jr.; and three sisters, Alma E. Wolfe, Margaret I. Dull and Rita Belle Ries, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 16, at Wesley United Methodist Church, with the Revs. Steven G. Waterman and Josh Tissot officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City, with graveside military honors performed by the combined honor guard of Legion Post 178 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803, both in Van Wert.

Calling hours are from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, October 15, and an hour prior to services Thursday at the church.

Preferred memorials: Wesley United Methodist Church or Van Wert County Hospital.
