Arthur W. Yoh, 91, of Van Wert, ran into the arms of Jesus at 8:42 p.m. Sunday, October 12, 2014, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

He was born April 29, 1923, in Scott, the son of the late Ervin S. and Elizabeth (Bender) Yoh. He married Marilee (Foster) Yoh, who survives in Van Wert.

American Flag for obituaries 6-2011Other survivors include two children, Beth Ann Yoh of Van Wert and Brenda L. (Brian) Shoop of Birmingham, Alabama; eight grandchildren, Michelle (Patrick) Gorman, Julie (Andy) Emerine, Jonathan (Kristen) Perkins, Scott (Andrea) Shoop, Emily (Joshua) Aldy, Hannah Shoop, Sarah Shoop and Jesse Shoop; and eight great-grandchildren.

Three brothers, Louis, Lester and Howard Yoh; and a sister, Olive Yoh, also preceded him in death.

Mr. Yoh was a farmer and a butcher for Rager’s Country Butcher Shop, and was a self-employed contractor. He was a very active member of Trinity Friends Church in Van Wert and was a U.S. Navy veteran who served during World War II.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 16, at Trinity Friends Church in Van Wert, with the Rev. Steve Savage officiating. Burial will be in Mohr Cemetery in rural Van Wert County.

Calling hours are from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, October 15, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert and an hour prior to services Thursday at the church.

Preferred memorials: Trinity Friends Church or the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.
