Lancers get new computers

Lincolnview computer event 9-23-14-Kaslow

People get excited about technology? In addition to Apple retail stores this time of the year, Lincolnview students and staff were celebrating Tuesday the distribution of new desktop, laptop and tablet computers as part of the district’s 1:1 computer initiative. Funds for the technology purchases came from a $450,000 Straight A Fund grant, as well as district funding. A total of 630 Google Chromebooks, 100 Lenovo LearnPads, 35 iMac desktop computers, 40 Dell laptops, 30 Sanyo document cameras, as well as carts, Smart Boards, and related software (see a sampling below). Lincolnview Superintendent Jeff Snyder spoke during the event, as did Van Wert native Allie Clifton Kaslow (above), a Fox Sports Ohio sidelines reporter for the Cleveland Cavaliers who gave a motivational speech to the students. On hand were State Senator Cliff Hites, State Representative Tony Burkley and Lincolnview grad and Van Wert County Commissioner Todd Wolfrum. (photos by Dave Mosier/Van Wert independent)
