Buckeye Y Youth seeking new members

Buckeye Youth information

Buckeye Y Youth Inc. recently sent pre-registration brochures to Van Wert County elementary schools to be distributed to students. The brochures explain the programs and opportunities available to Buckeye Youth members. Buckeye Youth is open to all youths ages 5 to 18, with activities for each age group, as well as events for all ages.

This past year, the boys and girls participated in many fun, educational and volunteer activities. Buckeye Youth had an Autumn Adventure Sleepover, went to Kangaroo Cave, Auglaize Village and visited an Indian Pow Wow. Members also had summer camp and went to Science Central.

Members attended club meetings and volunteered by making Valentines for disabled veterans. They went Christmas caroling at local nursing homes and made tray favors for the hospital. The organization also sold chocolate bars and members helped with the group’s doughnut stand to raise funds for activities.

Those interested in more information can fill out the form on flyers sent home through the schools and return or mail to the Buckeye Y Youth Inc. office, 147 E. Main Street, Suite D, in Van Wert.  There is a drop-off box outside the north door to the office inside the complex.

Parents may also email a child’s name, school, grade, gender and parent or guardian’s name, address and phone number to maryvanwert@aol.com or call 419.238.3546 and leave a message.

Those who submit information and an address will receive an October/November newsletter with more information about club meeting times and events.

Buckeye Y Youth Inc. is a United Way agency and received grants from the Van Wert County Foundation and Walmart.
