Bill Long

Bill Long, 78, of Rockford, died at 10:53 p.m. Tuesday, August 19, 2014, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

He was born December 4, 1935, in Henry County, the son of the late Albert and Ora (Stryker) Long. On July 11, 1958, he married Joan P. (Leupp) Long, who survives in Rockford.

Other survivors include four children, Cindy (Steve) DuVall of Middle Point, Petrise (Neil) Meyer of Celina, Cassi (Rich) Baker of Upper Arlington and Scott (Kathy) Long of Van Wert; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Carol Frysinger of Liberty Center.

A granddaughter, Samoan Meyer, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 24, at New Horizons Community Church in Rockford, with Pastors David Souers and Mark Rutledge officiating. Burial will be in East Bethel Cemetery near Rockford.

Calling hours are from 2-8 p.m. Saturday, August 23, and an hour prior to services Sunday at the church.

Preferred memorials: Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center or St. Anthony Dinner Theater.
