Sylvia Janette Height

Sylvia Janette Height, 81, of Van Wert, died Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at Miller’s Merry Manor Nursing Home in Wabash, Indiana.

She was born August 15, 1932, in Van Wert, a daughter of the late Walter and P. Marie Cooper. On November 4, 1950, she married Frank Leroy “Ted” Height, who preceded her in death on August 13, 2008.

She is survived by one son, Terry Nolan (Bonnie) Height of Wabash, Indiana; a  brother, Walter Lee Cooper of Las Vegas, Nevada; one sister, Faye (Donald) Uhl of Van Wert; three grandchildren, Jesse (Stephanie) Height of Wabash, Aaron (Lisa) Height of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Ashley (Ben) Robinson of Pierceton, Indiana; and five great-grandchildren.

A son, Mark Kevin Height; and two brothers, Jesse Cooper and Donald Cooper, also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Height was a graduate of Van Wert High School and spent many years as a secretary in the Van Wert City School District, from which she retired.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 11, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Van Wert, with Pastor Will Haggis officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.

Calling hours are from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, July 10, at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert and an hour prior to services Friday at the church.
