Starla Werst

Starla Werst, 41, of Decatur, Indiana, died Sunday, July 6, 2014, at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Starla was born September 26, 1972, in Glenmore, the daughter of Ruth (Roop) Werst, who survives in Van Wert, and the late James T. Werst. She married Lucas Markley of Decatur, who also survives.

Other survivors include a stepdaughter, Saige Markley of Decatur; three brothers, Kevin (Terri) Werst of Monroe, Indiana, Kerry Werst of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Eric (Carla) Roop of Birmingham, Alabama; two sisters, Teresa (Dave) Kreischer and April (Ken) Burns, both of Van Wert; a granddaughter, Nevaeh Jade; and several nieces and nephews.

A brother, Darrell Roop, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 10, at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home in Decatur. Burial will be in Decatur Cemetery at a later date.

Calling hours are from 3-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
