Patrol announces area OVI checkpoint

Ohio State Highway Patrol information

osplogoThe Ohio State Highway Patrol, in conjunction with the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office and the villages of Scott and Grover Hill, announced that troopers and local law enforcement will operate OVI checkpoints from 5:30 to 11:30 p.m. Saturday on Ohio 114 and Blaine Street in Van Wert and Paulding counties.

The OVI checkpoint, funded by federal grant funds, is planned to deter and intercept impaired drivers.

The checkpoint will also be held in conjunction with nearby saturation patrol to aggressively combat alcohol related injury and fatal crashes.

Those who plan to consume alcohol should designate a driver or make other travel arrangements before they drink. Don’t let another life be lost for the senseless and selfish act of getting behind the wheel impaired.
