VW DeMolay members earn scholarships

Van Wert DeMolay information

KENT — Van Wert DeMolays brought home over $14,000 in scholarships from their annual conclave held this past weekend at Kent State University.

Nathan Wilhelm, son of Robert and Alisa Wilhelm; AJ Thomas, son of Keith and Jill Thomas; Robbie Trittschuh, son of Steve and Jennifer Trittschuh; and Bob Laing, son of Kevin and Barb Laing, were all DeMolay logo 6-2014recipients of scholarships ranging from $2,500 to $350 that were awarded to members of the Order of DeMolay by several groups affiliated with the Masons.

DeMolay is a youth movement for young men between the ages of 12 and 21 years old. This year marks the 95th year that DeMolay has offered the opportunity for youths to learn valuable lessons such as love of parents, comradeship, love of God, cleanness in thought-word-and-deed, courtesy, loyalty, and love of country. Through participation in DeMolay, young men learn to be better public speakers, how to plan and execute events, how to budget their resources, and many valuable leadership skills all while having fun!

In addition, DeMolay members have access to special scholarships available just to members, opportunities to travel to other chapters for visitations, access to state sponsored events where they can interact with fellow DeMolays from across Ohio, and international activities. For more information check out www.DeMolay.org, www.ohiodemolay.org, or contact Dr. Kevin Laing.
