Prom decorations set up to come down

The Class of 2016 has just one more job to complete this year.  The sophomore class will take down the prom decorations on Sunday, May 4 starting at 2 p.m.  They will work until it is done.  Pizza and pop will be enjoyed after the task is accomplished courtesy of the class fund.  In addition to as many students as possible, a couple of trucks and trailers would be very helpful as well.  Parents are welcome to come and join in.  The class will be given a $200 payment from the juniors for their work and any decorations that are to be kept will need to be stored in the bus barn unless other storage is available.

The sophomores have been very responsible this year and the gym clean up went very well.  It is very much appreciated!  Any sophomore who would like to run for an officer position for next year should make sure that Sandy Dowdy has his or her name.  Officers will be voted on before the end of the school year.  There are a few class members who did not help with gym clean-up and still owe the class $10 of class dues.  Please turn the money in to a current officer.

Lincolnview junior high students will be taking the OAA test as follows: seventh grade – May 6 and 8, reading and math; eighth grade – May 6, 7, and 8, reading, math and science. The junior high will also have a Skyway trip to the YMCA on May 21. Watch for the permission slips to come home soon.

The Student Council will also be holding the annual Talent Show on May 8 at 1 p.m. If you have a talent you would like to showcase, you can sign up in the high school office.

Biztown is a mock town filled with businesses that the students operate as their job for the day.  Students participate in a variety of economic lessons in class several weeks before the trip.  These lessons help to prepare them for their job at Biztown.   They have to make several economic decisions in order for their business to be successful.  These decisions have to do with marketing/advertising, pricing (supply/demand), inventory, and maintaining a balanced checking account by the end of their business day.  The one-day field experience will be held on Wednesday, May 7.
