Gloria Jean Giessler

Gloria Jean Giessler, 82, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 8, 2014.

She was born June 21, 1931, in Willshire, the daughter of the late Casey and Marcile Trisel. On July 8, 1951, she married Carl Giessler, who survives.

Other survivors include two daughters, Colette (Jerry) Price of Tucson, Ariz., and Carleen (Nat) Brown of Bishopville, S.C.; a granddaughter, Melissa Parrett of Berne, Ind.; a grandson, Ryan Sauers of Bishopville, S.C.; two great-grandchildren, Casey and Gianna Parrett; a sister, Marlene (Jim) Habegger of Decatur, Ind.; one brother, Dennie Trisel of Willshire; and many nieces and nephews.

A son, Brett, also preceded her in death.

Gloria was a gifted pianist and organist who touched many lives with her musical talents and skills. She taught piano and organ out of her home near Ohio City and at both Hardin’s and Turner’s music stores in Van Wert. She also served as church organist at St. Paul’s Reformed Church in Harrison Township for 20 years.

After moving to Fort Wayne, Ind., she continued teaching music from her home, as well as at Fred Myers’ Music Store until moving to Tucson in August 2000.

She will be remembered for being caring, supportive and encouraging to family, friends and students, and for her beautiful smile.

A memorial service will be conducted in Tucson, Ariz., at a later date.

No visitation is planned at this time.

Preferred memorials: St. Paul’s Reformed Church.
