Dwight B. Rhoades

Dwight B. Rhoades, 90, of Venedocia, died at 9:30 p.m. Monday, April 7, 2014, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert.

He was born October 23, 1923, in York Township, Van Wert County, the son of the late Alonzo and Ada Mary (Jones) Rhoades. On November 22, 1945, he married Marjorie J. (Knittle) Rhoades, who survives.

Other survivors include a son, Steve M. (Sammie) Rhoades of Findlay; two daughters, Mary (Charles) Brenner of Zanesville and Carol (Marty) Sullins of Nashville, Tenn.; a brother, John M. (Phyllis) Rhoades of Waynesboro, Va.; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

A brother, Paul W. Rhoades; and one sister, Thelma Rhoades, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 12, at Salem United Presbyterian Church in Venedocia, with the Rev. Tom Emery officiating. Burial will be in Venedocia Cemetery.

Calling hours are from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, April 11, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, and an hour prior to services Saturday at the church.

Preferred memorials: Community Health Professionals-Hospice or Salem United Presbyterian Church.
