The 6th Grade art class recently created cherry blossom paintings as part of their "Japanese Art" unit. Students made a scroll-like painting of a cherry blossom branch using the 'blow ink through a straw' technique. Students first created a sky background (on long strips of white paper) with a faint full moon silhouette and then added the branch along with the pink or white cherry blossoms. (Photo submitted.)
