Ruby Jewell (Trammell) Hauter

Ruby Jewel (Trammell) Hauter, 86, of Middle Point, died at 4:10 a.m. Sunday, September 8, 2013, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

She was born January 26, 1927, in Winfield, Tenn., the daughter of the late Henry and Minnie Lee (Terry) Trammell. On December 1, 1950, she married Doyt LeRoy Hauter, who preceded her in death on August 24, 1997.

Survivors include a daughter, Jacqueline (David) Love of New Bremen; one son, Joseph (Penny) Hauter of Middle Point; four brothers, George Trammell and Wallace (Freda) Trammell, both of Winfield, Tenn., Howard (Ruth Ann) Trammell of Morgantown, Ind., and Avon (Kathy) Trammell of Venedocia; two sisters, Edna Mae Hill of Indianapolis, Ind., and Mary Joyce (Elmer) Roark of Mooresville, Ind.; two grandsons; a stepgranddaughter; one sister-in-law, Glenda Trammell; 53 nieces and nephews; and 73 great-nieces and nephews.

Three brothers, Ray O. Trammell, James Trammell, and Elmer Trammell (in infancy); two brothers-in-law, Ray Mihm and Gordon Hauter; and five sisters-in-law, Shirley Trammell, Jane Trammell, Pauline Mihm, Betty Hauter and Hilda Trammell, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, September 12, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with the Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City.

Calling hours are from 2-7 p.m. Wednesday, September 11, at the funeral home.
