Parkway sets summer wrestling camp

ROCKFORD — The Parkway Wrestling Club will host a summer wrestling camp for boys and girls June 4-6 with a round robin tournament for participants of the camp on June 7.

Camps run in session times of 8-9 a.m. or 9:30-10:30 a.m. for youngsters in grades K- 4. Those in grades 5-8 have the options of 9:30-10:30 a.m. or 11 a.m.-noon. The round robin tournament will run from 8 a.m.-noon on Friday, June 7.

Parkway High School wrestlers will be coaching the camp, along with the varsity coaching staff. The program is designed for students of all ages and ability and will focus on the fundamentals of wrestling.

Information can be obtained by contacting the Parkway High School office and registration forms will go home with Parkway students on April 19. All forms and money are due back to the high school office by May 10.

Cost of camp is $35 per student and includes a camp t-shirt. All checks will be made payable to Parkway Wrestling Club and all proceeds will be used to purchase new wrestling mats.
