James C. Miller

James C. “Jim” Miller, 78, of Van Wert, died at 4:28 p.m. Monday, November 26, 2012, at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne, Ind.

He was born May 2, 1934, in Van Wert, the son of the late Clifford and Anne (Hausknecht) Miller.

Mr. Miller retired in 1999 from Aeroquip Corporation in Van Wert. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and an avid bicyclist. He also enjoyed history and sports cars.

Survivors include two children, Nikki (Brian) Greve of Van Wert and Jennifer (Jason Haag) Dunlap of Cleveland; a sister, Virginia (Rik) Laiho of Findlay; two grandchildren, Nick and Lindsay Greve; two nephews, Erik and Peter Laiho; and his grand-dogs, Reese and Marley.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 30, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. Hal Shafer officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.

Calling hours are from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, November 29, at the funeral home.
