Berniece M. Brittsan, 92, of Wren, passed away on Wednesday, October 10, 2012, at Woodcrest Nursing Center.

She was born Sunday, March 28, 1920, in Monroeville, Ind., the daughter of the late Frank H. Laudahn and the late Ethel M. (Van Buskirk) Laudahn. She married Russell D. “Pete” Brittsan on November 19, 1939, in Monroeville, and he preceded her in death on September 24, 1994.

Berniece was a member of St. Paul Reformed Church in America in rural Van Wert County. She was a homemaker and was also employed at Decatur Industries for short period of time.

Surviving are her son, Robert A. (Carolyn) Brittsan of Carmel, Ind.; a daughter, Joy J. (John) Schaadt of Convoy; five grandchildren, Dr. Angela G. Brittsan, Dirk B. Brittsan, Janeen K. (Brian) Fights, Jolynn (Cory Mountz) Schaadt, and Jenifer N. (John) Kryzanowski; and three great-grandchildren, Russel D. Fights, Alek J. Kryzanowski, and Aric A. Kryzanowski.

A brother, Frank Laudahn; and four sisters, Luella Raber, Lucille Reidenbach, Leota Newport and a sister who died in infancy, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 13, at the St. Paul Reformed Church in America, with the Rev. Chad Strabbing officiating. Burial will follow in Protestant Evangelical Cemetery in rural Van Wert County.

Calling hours are from 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, October 12, at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur, Ind., and an hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
