"Problem solving" was a recent LIFE (Living in a Faithfilled Environment) skill word. Our Bible role model was Jacob. Throughout Jacob's life he had to solve many problems with Easu, Isaac, and Laben. Recognized for using "problem solving" skill were: Ryan Pratt, Owen Treece, Mrs. Say, Nathan Bidlack, Kordane Thomas, Angelo Jackson, Jadelyn Jackson, and Emma Hatcher. (Photo submitted.)

St. Marys School teaches that God has a purpose for each person and calls us throughout our life. Van Wert native Keith Stripe heard that call and is now serving as a priest in Maumee, Ohio. Fr. Keith attended school at St. Mary’s as a boy and went to Van Wert City Junior High and High School, where he was a football player. After college he worked in the computer industry for a few years, then followed God’s call to the seminary and was ordained a priest in the Catholic Church 16 years ago.

As part of Vocation Awareness Week Fr. Keith visited on Friday, March 2, celebrated Mass, and talked with students informally. He commented he and his twin sister “played Mass” as children. His sister, Therese Beard, said that the family knew Keith was going to do something special with his life.
