Keith J. Gehle
Keith J. Gehle, 66, of Rockford, died unexpectedly at 7:27 p.m. Friday, January 27, 2012, at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert.
He was born May 19, 1945, in Celina, the son of the late Al and Florence (Leugers) Gehle. On August 27, 1966, he married Margaret M. (Homan) Gehle, who survives in Rockford.
Other survivors include four children, Steve (Missy) Gehle and Jennifer Brandt, both of Rockford, Jim (April) Gehle of Lawrenceburg, Ind., and Marie Gehle of Evans, Ga.; a brother, Richard (Kay) Gehle of Lakeland, Fla.; three sisters, Audrey Jean Meiring of Sharpsburg, Betty Nieman of Alexandria, Va., and Karen (Chett) Moore of Armona, Calif.; a daughter-in-law, Kim (Ralph) Gehle-Forbes of Salt Lake City, Utah; two sisters-in-law, Anna Maria Gehle of Rome, Italy, and Myrna Gigandet of Versailles; and 11 grandchildren. A son, Allen Gehle; three brothers, Duane, David and Delaine Gehle; and a sister, Patty, also preceded him in death.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 1, at St. Teresa Catholic Church in Rockford, with Father Ken Alt officiating. A private graveside service will be held for the family.
Calling hours are from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, January 31, and 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford. The Rockford Eagles will have a memorial service at 7 p.m. Tuesday, followed by a short prayer services at 7:30 that evening and memory sharing by family and friends.
