Memorial Day service set in Van Wert

Memorial Day activities have been planned at two Van Wert sites on Monday, May 30.

A Memorial Day service will again be held at Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert, beginning at 10:30 Monday morning. The service is being conducted by American Legion Post 178, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803 and 40 et 8 chapter 154, all in Van Wert, and Amvets Post 698 in Middle Point.

Speaker for the service will be Bryan Zercler, associate pastor of First Baptist Church in Van Wert.

Following the ceremony in Woodland Cemetery, a brief wreath-laying service will be held in Memorial Park on West Main Street.

A free luncheon will be held at Legion Post 178, adjacent to the park, following that service for veterans and their guests.
